UIC Student Housing & New Academic Building

Connelly Electric partnered with Pepper Construction and Solomon Cordwell Buenz to construct a new academic and residential building.  This new 200,000 SF facility houses a living-learning community which includes a 10 story 146,000 SF building and 548 beds for student housing, as well as a 50,000 SF academic component with classrooms, a lounge and associated support space.  The housing portion incorporates both private & shared bedrooms, social, & amenity spaces.  The overall building includes a large auditorium, multiple glass rooms, fitness center, gaming lounges, laundry facilities and a 10th floor sky lounge.  The building earned LEED Gold certification.
